Take a look at some of the following common questions to see if their answers can assist you

• I can't see myself...

» Unless you are the broadcaster you will not see yourself until you request to come on stage and are promoted to one of the stages.

• I can’t hear my participants...

» Make sure you have made each of your participants live once you have brought them onto the stage. Click at the top right of a participant's window to reveal the speaker icon and make sure you have not muted anyone.

• I can see my participants but my viewers cannot...

» This means you have not made them live. you will see a button labeled live in the participants window.

• I don’t know how to start my meechat...

» At the top of the Meechat stage there is button you click called “Start Show”.

• There is no ‘start show’ button in the top right corner...

» Refresh the page using your browser's navigation buttons and make sure you are logged in.

• My viewers don't see a ‘request to chat’ button...

» Users must be logged in to request to chat. If they are not logged in they appear as “guest”.

• A little yellow ‘battery level’ keeps showing on the bottom of my screen...

» This means your internet connection is slow which means one of following is true...

• a. If the icon appears immediately upon entering the Meechat your internet bandwidth was low from the beginning.
• b. If the icon appears during a Meechat that has been underway. This means your Internet connection has degraded. Listed below are a few examples of how this can fix this.
• i. Make sure additional users have not gotten on your home network (ex. - watching Netflix)
• ii. If you are connected via WiFi, move to a different room or closer to your router.
• iii. If you are connected via a cellular network, make sure you are not in a “dead zone”. Move to another room or closer to the outer walls of the building.

• I keep breaking up...

» This is due to an inconsistent internet connection. Make sure you are at a location that gives you the best speed possible. This can also occur if you are changing your proximity to your internet connection.

• I have/My participant(s) have an echo or feedback...

» Try using headphones and/or try muting one of the other users. The mute button is on the top right corner of each users window on the stage. If you are using headphones make sure the external speakers are muted.
» If the microphone is close to the speakers (and not built-in), adjust the speakers and/or the microphone so that they are further apart.

• How to adjust the volume of the microphone in sound preferences...

» Windows users: adjust volume and input via the speaker icon in the lower left corner of your desktop.
» Apple users: From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences. Click the Sound icon. Click the Input tab. Move the Input Volume slider to the left, but not so far that the other person can't hear you. If the issue persists, adjust the speaker volume. First try to lower the volume. If this does not work (or the volume is already low), raise the speaker volume and see if this helps. If the microphone is close to the speakers (and not built-in), adjust the speakers and/or the microphone so that they are further apart.
» If none of the above works: refresh the Meechat page. Remember, if you hear an echo, feedback, or whine when you speak, then it is the remote users side that must make these adjustments. Conversely, if the other person says that they hear an echo, feedback, or whine when they speak, then it is likely you need to make these adjustments.

• I lost connection...

» Refresh the page using your browser's navigation buttons.

• How do I remove someone from the stage...

» Each of your participants windows has a remove from stage button underneath their respective window.

• How do I know that a viewer wants to come to the stage...

» Their image turns red and jumps to the front of your viewer queue.

• All of my screens are full and I want to bring up an additional viewer...

» You must first remove one of your participants from the stage. Then you can select another viewer and promote them to the new, open slot.

• No sound...

» Make sure you are using headphones with a mic. Check your volume settings to make sure your speakers and/or mic are not muted.

• Black screen...

» If your screen remains black after connecting to the Meechat then refresh the page using the refresh function on your browser. This is usually located in the top left of the browser by the navigation buttons. If this persists try closing the browser completely. Including any toolbar icons.

• Pixelated screen...

» This means the internet connection is slow or inconsistent you many also see a yellow ‘battery level’ icon on the bottom right of the window.

• Screen frozen...

» Refresh the page using the refresh function on your browser. This is usually located in the top left of the browser by the navigation buttons. If this persists try closing the browser completely. including any toolbar icons. If it persists further then restart your computer.

• Long delay...

» This is usually caused by slow internet connections. Try moving closer to your router and if that does not help, unplug your router and then plug it back in. This will reboot the router and possibly increase your internet speed.

• How do I know how many viewers I have...

» If you look at the top right corner of the Meechat stage you will see “__ viewing”.

• How can I view more people in the queue...

» Click on the arrows on either side of the viewer queue on the bottom of the stage.
